[BUG] Code mode in desktop app unresponsive — no output on any prompt

What's Wrong?

Code mode in the Claude desktop app accepts input but never produces any response. Sending a second message also gets no reply. The app appears completely stuck for Code mode only — Chat and Cowork modes work fine.

What Should Happen?

Code mode should process the prompt and return a response, like it does in VS Code and the terminal CLI.

Error Messages/Logs

No visible error messages. The input is accepted but nothing happens.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Open Claude desktop app
2. Switch to Code mode
3. Type any prompt and submit
4. No response appears
5. Send a second message — still no response

Additional Information

Tried: reinstall app, cleared Application Support/Caches/Preferences,
updated CLI via npm, force quit all processes.
Claude Code works fine in VS Code and terminal CLI.
