[BUG] Massive text input delays and hangs

What's Wrong?

Often when typing to chat inside of terminal emulator, there are massive input lags before I see the text I typed.

This usually occurs when other processes are working. Extremely workflow hindering.

What Should Happen?

There should be no input delay, I should see what I type right away.
