Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing requests and this feature hasn't been requested yet
  • [x] This is a single feature request (not multiple features)

Problem Statement

Many people prefer to plan using Opus and then to execute using Sonnet, but there's no very good way to switch models between the two without actually causing the model to have to absorb all the context from before or at least jump into a process that has already been started as opposed to starting from scratch.

Proposed Solution

Add options for "Yes, and switch model to Sonnet/Haiku" to the plan execution option picker.

Alternative Solutions

What I do right now is I say to clear context and then I immediately stop it and manually switch models.

Priority

Medium - Would be very helpful

Feature Category

Interactive mode (TUI)

Use Case Example

Rough Example scenario:

  1. I enter plan mode and have Claude create a plan
  2. Claude finishes and presents me with:

Claude has written up a plan and is ready to execute. Would you like to proceed?

  1. Yes, clear context (28% used) and bypass permissions
  2. Yes, and bypass permissions
  3. Yes, clear context (28% used) and change model to Sonnet
  4. Yes, and change model to Sonnet
  5. Yes, manually approve edits
  6. Type here to tell Claude what to change
