Anthropic API 529 Overloaded Error During Compaction Process

@tnorlund getting the same error. I am using windows wsl though

Same error for me as well. @tnorlund . It's not only during the compaction process I get it during normal operations as well.

@tnorlund I'm also getting the same error. Not during Compact just during use even with resetting console.

I think to many people are using it they need more compute I think it's the i've also noticed that they've started to cut back on some of the Opus goes fast now compared to what it was before I hit i'm hitting the timeouts quick or the rate limits quite quite quite quite quickly

@heyagent @vanman2024 You can report the bug via the /bug command in Claude Code to escalate as an issue to the engineering team. Hopefully they'll report an outage and investigate, shame their servers can't horizontally scale

More like the $200/mth I pay 💀

At the very least, create a scheduling system to allocate the resources for clients. Not that we should settle for that, but at least we would know when our slot was to be productive. This is how it was done back in the pre-transistor days of servers (you would book your time at the terminal)

I'm having the same issue, for this morning at every request, why the status on https://status.anthropic.com/ is not updated if you have issues?!

All the time overloaded for latest 2 days, both Opus and Sonnet, I can barely do anything using Claude Code on my Max subscription...

And Claude Status doesn't show there is actual any problems being resolved.

Same issue. It looks like it doesn't matter on which plan you are ($200, $100 or $20).

I pay over 320 CDN for the max plan 20x and getting rate limited now after about 4 hours but I am a Heavy user it's still the best coding tool on the market. I think Amazon is going to buy Anthropic

Initially it was good on Max plan 20x now it's not as good for sure but its still the best out there I think.

Fixed in what sense? That it sometimes works? It gets overloaded around 8AM-10AM EST every day for the past few days, consistently. Until that stops, or until Anthropic acknowledges that this is a widespread issue stunting the productivity of teams that are shelling out upwards of $2000/m on their product, I wouldn't say it's "fixed" or even addressed.

The real issue is that the Anthropic status page should be quickly updated with an explanation of what happened, why, and what to expect moving forward. The error message should include a link to the relevant page.
