Well, switch model to sonnet does works though.
How long does it take for the 529 error to appear in this case? I am facing a similar issue here for several days now: https://github.com/anthropics/claude-code/issues/2657. But in my case it happens even when Claude Code status page reports no ongoing incidents and I never get an error message, Claude Code just seems to be thinking forever with no tokens exchanged.
today it's been an issue almost all day when using Opus.
This was caused by a specific Opus outage that seems resolved now.
I still keep getting Time outs though.. :-/

im getting this too, it stops in new session though
timeouts for me are experienced only when the model is working on some project that could be seen as unethical in some ways, its like censoring the response and isntead of saying its not allowed, will say timed out.
Well it for sure is not unethical code im working on :D
But it seems to help to tell it to do it in smaller and incremental stages or split it in to smaller pieces. Or to split work in to pices to avoid api timeouts.
Possible to increase the inference timeout? it dont seem to be very large issues needed before i get this issue...

Claude code is unplayable today. (already switch to sonnet cause opus was failing too often last week)
Yes, it is down an awful lot recently. The status page is extremely optimistic about when outages are resolved: https://status.anthropic.com.
It shows an outage for today but as already resolved when I'm facing issues with overloaded servers right now.
I also experience this problem, a new session is not helping for me...

Same Issue here now. It seems that the servers, API or something on their side is extremely overloaded and therefore many Claude Code users experience this problem at the same time.
Seeing 529s yesterday and today. Claude code is unusable.
