[BUG] Persistent "Usage Full" Account State post-March 3rd Outage - Case #215473356564532
Preflight Checklist
- [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
- [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
- [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code
What's Wrong?
My account is stuck in a "locked" state where it incorrectly reports "You've hit your extra usage spend limit" despite having a $28.24 credit balance. This was triggered by the confirmed "Outage in Usage Reporting" on March 3-4, 2026.
My dashboard incorrectly shows a massive, system-induced spike of 15,000+ tokens on March 3rd. Even though my actual usage is normal (8,490 input / 20,405 output), the system is flagging me at 109% of my spend limit and 99% of my session limit, preventing all work and causing significant business losses.
What Should Happen?
The account state should reflect actual usage and allow me to draw from my remaining $28.24 balance. The erroneous March 3rd token spike should be purged from my usage calculation to restore access.
Error Messages/Logs
- UI Error: "You've hit your extra usage spend limit • Your limit resets at 2:30 PM"
- Spending: $21.75 spent of $20.00 limit (109% used)
- Session: 99% used
- Response from Fin AI Agent: "Your dashboard shows the March 3rd incident created a persistent account state issue. The system is incorrectly flagging your account as over-limit."

To help you get this resolved quickly, I’ve drafted the content for the remaining fields exactly as you should present it to the technical team. This focuses on the fact that your account is stuck in a "ghost" state that standard support can't fix.
What's Wrong?*
I am facing a persistent "Usage Full" block on my account that appears to be a backend state error following the March 3rd reporting outage. Despite having a credit balance of $28.24 and only using 11% of my weekly limits, the system incorrectly reports that I have hit my extra usage spend limit (showing 109% used). This was triggered by an erroneous spike of 15,000+ tokens on March 3rd that does not reflect my actual usage.
What Should Happen?*
The account should accurately reflect my current session and draw from my available $28.24 balance. The erroneous token data from the March 3rd system incident should be purged from my account state so that the "Usage Full" block is lifted.
