[BUG] Major slowdown in performance with high effort

What's Wrong?

Never seen Claude Code respond so slowly on MacOS and Linux

What Should Happen?

Normal performance.

Error Messages/Logs

No explicit error. Just seeing 14-15 minute responses for average sized responses, and what appear to be freezes in token output.

Ask for something normal.
