Problem Statement

Feature Request: Eclipse IDE Plugin

Summary
Add native Claude Code integration for Eclipse IDE, similar to the existing VS Code and JetBrains plugins.

Motivation
Eclipse is widely used, especially in enterprise Java development and embedded systems.
Many developers working in these environments would benefit from Claude Code integration
without having to switch IDEs.

Desired Features

  • Inline code suggestions and completions
  • Chat panel within Eclipse
  • Context-aware assistance (selected code, open files)
  • Diff viewer for suggested changes

Current Workaround
Using the Claude Code CLI from Eclipse's built-in terminal, which lacks IDE-specific features.

Environment

  • Eclipse version: 2025-12 (4.38.0)
  • OS: macOS / Windows / Linux
  • Primary use case: [e.g. Java development, embedded C, etc.]

Proposed Solution

Using the Claude Code CLI from Eclipse's built-in terminal, which lacks IDE-specific features.
