Permissions reset every session resume — causes approval fatigue and safety risk

Resolved 💬 4 comments Opened Mar 5, 2026 by LeeCampbell Closed May 1, 2026

Description

When returning to a Claude Code session (e.g. on the Android app), all previously approved permissions must be re-approved. Even permissions approved hours earlier in the same session are forgotten.

Impact

  • Users must tap "approve" 30+ times to get back to a working state
  • This trains users to blindly approve without reading, which is the opposite of the permission system's intent
  • Users then accidentally approve new/different permission requests they haven't read
  • A productivity tool is actively creating more manual work

Expected behavior

Previously approved permissions within a session should persist across app resumes. At minimum, permissions approved in the current session should not require re-approval.
