What's Wrong?
Bug Description
Arabic text input in the Claude Code chat panel is broken.
Characters appear garbled/misshapen when typing in Arabic (RTL text).
Steps to Reproduce
- Open VS Code with Claude Code extension
- Open the Claude Code chat panel
- Try typing any Arabic text in the input field
- Characters appear incorrectly (e.g. "محتحمنم" instead of proper Arabic)
Expected Behavior
Arabic text should render correctly with proper character shaping
and right-to-left direction, as it did in previous versions.
Previous Behavior
Arabic input was working correctly in a previous version of the extension.
