[BUG] Multiple processes not cleaned up after finishing agent task

Resolved 💬 3 comments Opened Mar 3, 2026 by mgrass-dev Closed Apr 1, 2026

Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

I only have 2 instances of Claude Code while making this screenshot. Claude Code gets TOTALLY UNUSABLE and makes my whole computer UNUSABLE. I have to manually kill those processes every ~ 4h to keep working.

Is there a fix to this? It's been MONTHS since I haven't been able to have a fluid experience like OpenCode or even Codex offers.

What Should Happen?

Processes should be cleaned up when a task or agent is finished.
