This should not have been closed.

What Should Happen?

This should not happen. Claude mode should change. This also is likely a broader setting bug, either in Cursor or MacOS. Just noting here for posterity, because the fucking bugbot closed the other issue, so no-one will ever be able to comment on it with a fix, should they discover it.
