Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

Claude Desktop installs successfully on Windows ARM64 but no window ever appears. The app shows as running in Task Manager (4 Claude processes) but there is no visible window, no system tray icon, and no way to interact with the app.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Download the ARM64 MSIX installer from claude.com/download
  2. Install Claude Desktop
  3. Launch from Start menu or desktop shortcut
  4. No window appears

Expected: App window opens and is usable
Actual: Processes run silently in background with no visible UI

Things already tried:

  • Restart PC
  • Kill all Claude processes in Task Manager and relaunch
  • Ctrl+Alt+Space shortcut (no effect)
  • Alt+Tab (Claude does not appear)
  • Uninstall and reinstall
  • No system tray icon present

System info:

  • OS: Windows 11 ARM64
  • App version: 1.1.4173 (Anthropic PBC, installed 2/24/2026)
  • This is a fresh install, no prior version was installed

What Should Happen?

Claude Desktop should open a visible window when launched,
allowing the user to interact with the app normally.
