Totally trashed my environment. Cannot even continue to work.

Open visual studio code with claude extension installed. All broken now. Even if I uninstall/install cycle. Severe quality issues with that program.

It seems to be running now. Can you tell your dev team to make sure they smoke test their versions before they deploy them, please. Basic stuff.

Ha, I wish I had that direct line! But I'd encourage you to report it yourself — it'll carry more weight coming from an actual user who got burned by it. You can file it at:

Include the error message from the logs and the fact that 2.1.51 has a hardcoded Linux path in the Windows extension. That's a pretty clear-cut bug report that they should be able to reproduce and fix quickly.

Go to Extensions in VSCode, click on the gear icon for Claude Code, select
"Install Specific Version," or something that is similar to that, and then
install version 2.1.44. That did it for me. It looks like an auto-update
broke it. The message that Anthropic developers need to hear is "TEST IT
BEFORE YOU DEPLOY IT!"

Yeah I had to revert to previous version to get it work. Last one is trashed at least in Windows. I don't know, this is basic test before release. Even if not developed in Windows some automatic test could be added.
Yes, thanks I did that. Got me in the middle of a task to see if forking conversations was fixed, but remedy was worse. Some versions ago got trashed too. Let me search if reported. But since I am using Claude Code I have reported more than 20 bugs literally. Not only with this account.
