Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

Claude Desktop on Windows crashes frequently during normal use and becomes completely non-functional after each crash. A full system reboot is required every time to restore functionality. The app is essentially unusable in its current state — it is totally dysfunctional.

Steps to reproduce:
Normal usage — crashes occur during regular operation without any specific trigger.

Platform:

  • OS: Windows
  • App: Claude Desktop

Additional context:
Each crash requires a full computer reboot to get the app working again. This is a critical stability issue that makes Claude Desktop on Windows practically unusable.

What Should Happen?

Claude Desktop should run stably on Windows without crashing. If an error occurs, the app should recover gracefully without requiring a full system reboot.
