[Bug] /memory menu cannot be dismissed after selecting a memory location

Resolved 💬 5 comments Opened Feb 22, 2026 by sharankarthikyan Closed May 14, 2026

Bug Description

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Run /memory command
  2. Select a memory location (e.g. "Project memory")
  3. Press Esc to cancel — the menu does not close

Expected behavior: Pressing Esc dismisses the /memory menu

Actual behavior: Pressing Esc outputs ^[^[^[^[^[ characters instead of closing the menu, leaving the UI stuck

Environment: Claude Code v2.1.50, macOS (Darwin 25.3.0)
