[BUG] Can't launch when using nushell

Environment

• Platform (select one):
• [x] Anthropic API
• [ ] AWS Bedrock
• [ ] Google Vertex AI
• [ ] Other: <!-- specify -->
• Claude CLI version: 1.0.35 (Claude Code)
• Operating System: macOS 15.5
• Terminal: Ghostty and iTerm

Bug Description

Claude Code crashes when attempting to launch with nushell.

Steps to Reproduce

1. On macOS, install nushell
2. Launch nushell
3. Run claude

Expected Behavior

Claude Code should launch

Actual Behavior

Program crashes with the following trace:
trace.txt

Additional Context

I have tried with CC installed both through bun and npm. Both had the same result.
