[Feature Request] Add session-scoped command whitelist override
Resolved 💬 3 comments Opened Feb 12, 2026 by smichelForHire Closed Feb 16, 2026
Bug Description
Please add a way to whitelist a command for a single session only.
I generally prefer to keep Claude on a tight leash, but for certain tasks it's tedious to approve the same command (or slight variations) over and over again.
E.g. I don't generally want to give Claude free reign to make web requests, but when doing research I'd like to temporarily allow all requests to a given domain. Or when filing a new github issue, I'd temporarily allow using gh search issues and gh issue view.
Workaround
Allowlist the command, then edit settings.local.json after the session is done and remove it again.
