Preflight Checklist

  • [x] This is a single feature request (not multiple features)

Problem Statement

As a technical Documentation Manager, I often need to refer to Google Drive documents when working with Claude Code. Claude Code has no good MCP server for Google Drive, and can't interact with the Claude Desktop for Mac Google Drive Connector.

Proposed Solution

I'd like to tell Claude Code to set up an MCP server that can list, read, write, and modify Google docs, and have it work with minimal setup. Alternatively, use my already-configured Claude Desktop for Mac Google Drive connector to do the same thing.

Alternative Solutions

So many things. Neither Claude (Sonnet 4.5, 1M) or I can figure out how to get it working. The third-party MCP servers out there don't look very legitimate, and could just be out there to steal company secrets.

Priority

Medium - Would be very helpful

Feature Category

MCP server integration

Use Case Example

I'm working with Claude Code to write technical documentation for a new feature. The developers are on vacation, and haven't described the feature very well. I need to verify the default settings for a particular configurastion setting. In addition to using Claude Code to understand the default settings, I'd like to pull in the product brief written by the Product Manager that's in Google Drive.

I'm looking at my Jira tickets and would like to make a one-page Google Docs summary of outstanding Jiras. I'd rather do this in Claude Code where my context is, not switch contexts and do this in the Claude Desktop for Mac.
