Preflight Checklist

  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

⎿ Context limit reached · /compact or /clear to continue

❯ /compact
⎿ Error: Error during compaction: Error: Conversation too long. Press esc twice to go up a few messages an
try again.

EVERY SINGLE TIME I get this Error "Error: Conversation too long.", before it stopped at the right point to compact the session and continue and now I always have to go at least one message back. The problem is many times I have a session only with one message and if I go that one message back it is like deleting 100% of the context. It makes no sense. Please help or fix. Thanks

What Should Happen?

Like it always was before just let me run the /compact command
