[BUG]

Resolved 💬 3 comments Opened Feb 4, 2026 by jarfa Closed Feb 8, 2026

Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

When Claude Code exits, the iTerm2 tab title remains set to "Claude Code ..." or whatever custom name was set via /rename.

What Should Happen?

The title should be cleared on exit to allow the shell to resume control, and to make my iTerm2 tabs names useful.

Error Messages/Logs

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open a new iTerm2 tab (title shows "-zsh" or similar)
  2. Run claude
  3. Tab title changes to "Claude Code (claude)"
  4. Exit Claude Code with /exit or Ctrl+D
  5. Tab title still shows "Claude Code (...)" The text in the () might change as I use other programs, but "Claude Code (..." remains.
