Feature Request: Microsoft 365 Connector for Max Plan Individual Users
Summary
The Microsoft 365 connector is currently restricted to Team and Enterprise plans only. Individual users on the Max plan ($100/month or $200/month) cannot access this integration, despite paying more per-user than Team plan subscribers ($30/seat).
The Problem
| Plan | Price | M365 Connector Access |
|------|-------|----------------------|
| Max 5x | $100/month | ❌ No |
| Max 20x | $200/month | ❌ No |
| Team | $30/seat/month | ✅ Yes |
| Enterprise | Custom | ✅ Yes |
A Max 20x subscriber paying $200/month has fewer integration capabilities than a single-seat Team user paying $30/month. This pricing/feature disparity doesn't align with reasonable customer expectations.
Use Case
Individual power users (consultants, solo developers, freelancers) who:
- Work with clients using Microsoft 365
- Store documents in OneDrive
- Need Claude to access and analyze their own files
- Don't need team collaboration features
- Are willing to pay premium individual pricing
Requested Change
Enable the Microsoft 365 connector for Max plan subscribers. The connector is read-only and operates within the user's existing M365 permissions, so there's no additional security concern beyond what Team users already have.
Technical Note
The connector already exists and works. This is purely a business/licensing gate, not a technical limitation. Individual Max users can already use custom MCP connectors - the official M365 connector is artificially restricted.
Comparison
Other pre-built connectors (Asana, Linear, Sentry, Zapier, Cloudflare, etc.) are available to all paid plans including Pro and Max. Only Slack and Microsoft 365 are carved out for Team/Enterprise exclusively. Given that M365 is the dominant productivity suite, this exclusion significantly limits Max plan value for professional individual users.

Submitted on behalf of a Max plan subscriber who discovered this limitation while attempting to integrate OneDrive file access with Claude Code.

I am a solo lawyer and tech developer with two Max plans. I just downgraded one to Pro and am deciding what to do with the other. ChatGPT offers this connector to all paid plans and much more cost effectively for business plans by only requiring two seats in a plan. It does not make sense to buy empty Teams seats instead of spending money on usage. You should support you small business customers by either turning on this connector for Max plans or reducing the number of seats required for a Teams plan or allocating usage on an organizational basis so that I can get something out of the empty seats. If this is not fixed, I will have to evaluate increasing spending for ChatGPT and reducing spending on Claude.
Seriously wtf

Excellent feature request, really well put together. The pricing comparison table makes the disparity impossible to ignore.
I want to add my voice as a solo entrepreneur running international business operations (hospitality and agriculture across the UK and Southern Asia). I'm a Max plan subscriber, admin of my own Microsoft 365 account, and Claude is my primary AI tool. The inability to connect M365 natively is a genuine productivity gap.
For individual business owners, consultants, and freelancers, Microsoft 365 is often the backbone of daily operations: Outlook for client communications, OneDrive for document storage, Excel for financial modelling and reporting. We're exactly the kind of power users willing to pay premium pricing, yet we're locked out of an integration that a $30/seat Team user gets by default.
I'd really appreciate Anthropic giving this serious consideration. Solo entrepreneurs, small business owners, and independent professionals are a significant and growing segment of your user base. We don't need team collaboration features, we need our tools to talk to each other. Enabling M365 access for Max subscribers would be a meaningful quality-of-life improvement for people who are already your most committed individual customers.
Yes please!
Yes please!
Just discovered the lack of connector in Claude for MS365. Please add - I don't want to move my entire data repository to GoogleDrive. This ability is fundamental, particularly with the investment in Max.

Problem Statement
The M365 MCP connector bridges a small gap, giving Claude read access to OneDrive. BUT it only works in ENTERPRISE, and we're grateful it exists. But it NEEDS to be available in Pro and Max and needs more capabilities.
YET that is still a workaround for a gap that shouldn't exist in the first place. The connector is Read-only, so Claude still cannot Create, Update, and Delete folders and files on OneDrive.
The Feature Request
We respectfully request that Anthropic add the following
Write-back via M365 connector available on all paid Claude Accounts! - the ability for Claude to C.R.U.D. folders and files directly on OneDrive/SharePoint, completing the round-trip that the current read-only connector starts.
We're Happy to Help
If this is on your roadmap, we'd welcome the chance to be an early tester or provide feedback from the field. If it's not yet on your roadmap, we hope this request helps make the case.
We appreciate your time and your work. Claude is a remarkable product, and we're building our business on it.
We just need it to close the loop.

@Deep-Memory-Recovery - Why are you posting that here? Can you please move your request to its own thread?
I reduced it to align with this specific issue.
This is extremely important!
I have a Max 20x plan and can't access my work email (M365 based) while a colleague with a small Teams plan that pays less than me does. Absurd. Please Fix it Anthropic.
I read "Feature Request: Microsoft 365 Connector for Max Plan Individual Users" end-to-end and went through the full thread.
Problem I see: The Microsoft 365 connector is currently restricted to Team and Enterprise plans only. Individual users on the Max plan ($100/month or $200/month) cannot access this integration, despite paying more per-user than Team plan subscribers ($30/seat).
Root-cause hypothesis: an FFI boundary mismatch (types/ownership/error handling) between wrapper code and native APIs.
First patch plan: define a minimal wrapper surface first, align types and ownership semantics with the native API, then add deterministic tests for correctness, memory safety, and failure-path behavior.
If this direction matches what you want, I can publish repro notes first so review starts from concrete evidence.
Just to add my weight to this - currently looking at what AI assistant to go with, and this one is a deal-breaker.
I looked into anthropics/claude-code#20469 and can take this with a scoped plan.
If aligned, I can post the first concrete update today.
Upvoting! This should _definitely_ be available to Max plans, 5x or 20x!
Try this https://marketplace.microsoft.com/en-us/product/saas/anthropic.microsoft-365-connector-for-claude?tab=overview
That requires a work or school account so won't work with personal/family accounts.
Guys, there are hundreds of thousands of people with personal emails. There was no legit reason to restrict this feature to team plans only. Please open this feature up to everyone and quickly.
seriously? what are htey thinking to not implement this in individual plans?
We need this I am paying 200$ and not getting the M365 suite like why ?
I realize most people on this thread are on the Max plan but I don't see any reason it shouldn't be available to Pro plan users too. Gmail is supported and there are plenty of solo professionals with M365 email.
Pro Max 20 the most expensive plan and I do not have this feature that is unfair!
I'm in the same boat. $200/max plan and run a solo business, so I don't need a Teams or Enterprise plan, but I desperately need a SharePoint connector.
Is there anyone we can talk to Anthropic to advocate for this feature?
I really love Claude but paying for max and not being able to hook up my 365 email to it is a pain. I need an AI to start summarizing my daily email and make a priority list of todo's from it.
But apparently I am paying this company to much money as I can't even get this on the max plan.
Either do away with the 5 user minimum on the team and enterprise plans or do what this request says and let the max plan members have access to the connector.
Only two in my company currently uses Claude or even has a need to use Claude in the way we do. And we are a small company with 4 users so having to pay for 3 extra users that wont be used just so 2 of us can have access to the connect where only 1 of that 2 even wants the connector is bull.
Please bring this to the Max plan asap. I will probably have to downgrade to the normal $20 plan and use the savings to pay for an AI that CAN help me with my emails. Which really sucks bc IMO Claude is the best!
I had to write a remote MCP server just for this. Between hosting, auth, and all the bugs in Claude's MCP client, it was a huge pain. Something as basic as email/calendar shouldn't cost 125USD per month. It's pretty much killed any chance of adopting Claude at my work too
Really frustrating to pay for MAX and then not get this. I understand not having it for Free, or even Pro. MAX personal plan not having M365 seems ridiculous.
We can try to advocate for the SharePoint connector on this Reddit thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeCowork/s/bhw8p83wCU
Yes, this is hugely frustrating as a max subscriber.
I was able to get it. No clue how , but I have it and it works great

This is the SharePoint (or Microsoft 365) connector? And are you on a Teams or Enterprise plan or the Max or Pro plan?
+1 need MS365 integration asap without the need to set up a custom MCP.

can you post a screenshot of the Connectors page? I'm on Max 20x and can't find the 365 connector.
any progress on this one?
A ce prix-là (plan max), c'est un minimum. Cowork n'a même pas accès à mes mails ou mon agenda. Scandale!
+1 on this request. Pro plan subscriber here. I use Claude heavily across Desktop, web, Chrome extension, and multiple MCP tools. All my files live in OneDrive — it's the default on Windows and where my entire workflow is built.
On Desktop, Claude accesses OneDrive through Desktop Commander (local filesystem). On web/mobile, I'm completely cut off. I'm currently mirroring project folders to Google Drive as a workaround — maintaining duplicate files across two cloud services just because Google Drive has a Pro connector and OneDrive doesn't.
The M365 connector already exists. This is a business gate, not a technical limitation. Pro and Max users are paying customers who would immediately benefit from OneDrive access — especially the large Windows user base where OneDrive is already syncing by default.
Happy to beta test. I run complex document-heavy workflows (legal, medical) that would stress-test the connector against real edge cases.
Crazy this is not avaliable to Max plan customers.
I understand the business case rationale that Anthropic would like to drive Claude users to the Team plan to extract more revenue. However, I don't think my situation is unique and in fact is likely more common that would actually produce more revenue. Specifically, I'm the administrator for MS Teams for a small company. My co-workers have decades of technical experience in their respective fields but their computer skills are primarily limited to Excel and copy and pasting Word documents. Nonetheless, we have terabytes of technical documents on our OneDrive. I'm the early adopter of Claude's more advanced capabilities and would love to demonstrate what it can do to advance their own analyses and work products. However, as we're still capital constrained adding the expense of a Claude Team plan is out of reach at the moment. If on the other hand, I could as a Claude Pro user access our OneDrive, I would be able to demonstrate to the others what a fantastic tool it is and then it would be SOP for my company from that point on and justify the Claude Team upgrade for everyone. This would help accelerate our anticipated growth. Rather than struggling to justify the first five users, we would be adding other professionals and would quickly get to 20 monthly users at least. Constraining an early adopter from generating enthusiasm and use to a broader market is a common mistake in Marketing 101. Anthropic: Unleash your early adopters to expand your user base at rates that even you would find tough to imagine!
Agree I would love this - finally can use cowork on my ARM device - now I need to cowork with my o365!! I'm on a MAX plan - PLEASE!!!!
Have you tried to just manually install the MCP?

Is there someone at Anthropic (email or Twitter) we could make our case to?
Hallelujah, they just released this!
I can confirm its showing in my Claude right now. Not sure if they just gave it to the MAX people, or everyone, or made a mistake... Either way I have it connected in mine right now. YOU DO have to use a work or school account to authenticate and tie your 365 to it but that's to be expected.
Confirmed. :)

Is it just me or is it missing (again) for Max (5x) individual plan accounts?
yes its not there. I check literally every day. Max individual plans don't have it. killing me.
Can confirm on a Max 5x - not there :(

weird...I'm on Max 20x: last week I posted that it was finally available, and I installed/configured it.
Now it's not in the list when I browse available connectors, but I still have it installed. If I remove it probably I won't be able to reinstall it. Also, the "custom" label next to it was not there when I first installed it.

I'm on Max 20x, on April 4 it was there and I installed it, check my post above.
Now I don't see it anymore in the repo, but luckily it's working because I had already installed it.
Please tell me this didn't get removed so soon after launch...
Very annoying
Confirming that directory connectors should work across plans. Thank you for the report!
