[BUG] In the planning menu’s “Type here to tell Claude what to change” text field, beginning with a 1, 2, or 3 selects that numbered option instead of inserting the character

Preflight Checklist

  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

When Claude is planning and presents these options:

Claude has written up a plan and is ready to execute. Would you like to proceed?

 ❯ 1. Yes, clear context and auto-accept edits (shift+tab)
   2. Yes, auto-accept edits
   3. Yes, manually approve edits
   4. Type here to tell Claude what to change

The final option is to reject the plan and tell Claude what to do differently. If you start this message with a number (e.g., you want to type “1. Lorem the ipsum, then 2. dolor the sit, then 3. amet the consectetur.” When you type the number 1, the first option is actually selected instead of the number 1 being typed. (Similar outcome if the first character is a 2 or 3 — second/third options selected.)

What Should Happen?

When you're in the text field in Option 4, typing anything should just type, not select other options.
