Drag and drop file path insertion broken in 2.1.25 (Kitty terminal)

Environment

  • Claude Code: 2.1.25
  • Terminal: Kitty 0.44.0
  • OS: Debian (Linux 6.12.63+deb13-amd64)

Description

Drag and drop of files into the Claude Code prompt to insert file paths stopped working after updating to version 2.1.25. This was working correctly in the previous version.

Pasting via Ctrl+Shift+V still works as a workaround. Kitty has not been updated (unchanged since December 2025), so the regression appears to be on the Claude Code side.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open Claude Code in Kitty terminal
  2. Drag a file from the file manager into the Claude Code prompt
  3. Expected: file path is inserted
  4. Actual: nothing happens
