[BUG] Error: Claude Code process terminated by signal SIGTRAP

What's Wrong?

macOS Sequoia (exact version: click → About This Mac)
VS Code version
Node v22.21.0
CLI works, extension crashes with SIGTRAP

Have tried upgrading / downgrading reinstalling - clearing app cache , seems to run in terminal but that is no good for us

What Should Happen?

claude should create code and respond - but it freezes
