seeing this error on authorizing via browser: OAuth error: Request failed with status code 500
What Should Happen?
login should proceed normally

- fresh install v2.1.15
- $ claude
- copy and paste the login url to browser
- copy the auth key back in the claude code
- see the error

I also got the OAuth error: "Failed to fetch user roles: Request failed with status code 500" just now.

Hi folks, thanks for reporting this. These 500 errors were caused by transient API outages on the Anthropic side — not a bug in Claude Code itself. The API is currently healthy, so I'm closing this out.
