"Cowork hangs on 'sending request'"

What's Wrong?

Title: Cowork hangs indefinitely on "sending request" - macOS

Environment:

• macOS Darwin 25.2.0
• Claude Desktop v1.1.381
• Claude Code SDK v2.1.8
• 32GB RAM, plenty of disk space
• No VPN active

Description:
Cowork sessions hang indefinitely after showing "sending request". The VM boots
successfully (7s), process spawns correctly, OAuth is approved, but API requests
never complete or return errors.

What works:

• Regular Claude chat in desktop app
• API connection from host (curl https://api.anthropic.com responds in <1s)
• VM startup and process spawning

What doesn't work:

• Any Cowork session hangs after "sending request"
• Tried: restarting app, clearing VM session data, fresh sessions
