Feature Request

Add timestamps to Claude Code messages metadata.

Problem

I use Claude as my assistant, but without time awareness it can't tell:

  • A 5 minute delay vs 5 hours
  • If it's morning or evening
  • If it's a new day

Use Case

When working with Claude Code over extended sessions or returning after breaks, Claude has no context about the passage of time between messages. This makes it difficult for Claude to:

  • Understand urgency or staleness of previous context
  • Adjust tone/greetings appropriately (e.g., "good morning" vs "welcome back")
  • Recognize when significant time has passed that might affect the task at hand

Proposed Solution

Include timestamps in the message metadata that Claude can access, allowing it to be aware of when messages were sent relative to each other and the current time.
