Description

The auto-suggestion feature that used to suggest how to proceed during conversations has stopped working after upgrading to version 2.1.6.

Environment

  • Claude Code Version: 2.1.6
  • OS: macOS (Darwin 24.6.0)
  • Terminal: iTerm2

Expected Behavior

In previous versions, Claude Code would proactively suggest next steps or how to proceed during conversations. This was helpful for guiding the workflow.

Actual Behavior

After upgrading to 2.1.6, these auto-suggestions no longer appear. The feature seems to have been disabled or broken.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Upgrade to Claude Code 2.1.6
  2. Start a conversation
  3. Notice that auto-suggestions for next steps no longer appear

Additional Context

This was working in the version prior to 2.1.6. The exact previous version number is unknown, but the feature was functional before this upgrade.
