Can someone from Anthropic clarify the actual purpose of this repository?
Yet, it contains no agent logic, no model weights, no SDK, not even API wrapper examples just docs and config files showing of "fully proprietary (© Anthropic PBC, "All rights reserved")."
I'm aware GitHub allows commercial projects, but this isn’t even a minimal wrapper like OpenAI’s API SDK. It’s literally a marketing page disguised as a repo and feel like a bait-and-switch for developers expecting transparency.

How would you create this issue if this repo didn't exist? 😂 It's a great place for developers using Claude Code to communicate with the team.
We don't publish the source for Claude Code; as @mateuszmazurek said, the purpose of the repo is to share the example devcontainer setup and to allow other developers to publicly report issues using Claude Code

So let me get this straight: the entire point of this repo is to act as a glorified contact form for a proprietary product? No code, no SDK, no wrapper, just a README.md and a devcontainer config and you call that open developer tooling?
There are 1.4k+ open issues right now most unanswered. So even this “community communication channel” excuse falls flat. It’s just a parking lot of ignored developer feedback. This isn’t “open” collaboration it’s marketing in disguise.
If the goal was transparency and helping developers, you'd atleast publish a minimal wrapper (like OpenAI and Mistral do).
But it is currently a misleading, empty shell repo used for developer baiting to API.
GitHub is a code hosting platform, not a forum substitute. This isn’t Reddit. This is a public Git repository they use as a marketing landing page with zero actual code, then acting smug when someone points it out. That emoji doesn’t make it funny, it just makes it worse.
1,500+ open issues with the first 5 pages without responses. Is that your definition of “communicating with the team”? Because from here it looks more like a dead mailbox.
