  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

I am trying to connect VS Code to my existing Claude account (I have a max account), and the OAuth auto-redirects before I can click Authorize. I can't seem to get to the code to authorize VS Code. This happens in both Chrome and Safari, and incognito mode.

What Should Happen?

Claude Oath screen shouldn't redirect before I can click authorize.

Error Messages/Logs

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Install Claude Code extension in VS Code.
  2. Click the link to login / authorize an existing account
  3. Oath screen appears momentarily, then redirects to "Hey there, I'm Claude" screen and asks the user to onboard, even though they're already logged in and onboarded. You can never see the Oath screen long enough to hit "authorize".

Claude Model

None

Is this a regression?

I don't know

Last Working Version

This is my first time installing, so I don't know if it was working before.

Claude Code Version

2.1.5

Platform

Anthropic API

Operating System

macOS

Terminal/Shell

VS Code integrated terminal

Additional Information

I would expect the oath screen to linger long enough for me to click authorize, then I would get a code (or it would redirect me back to VS Code saying claude code is authorized.
I'm running latest MacOS, latest VSCode, latest chrome and safari browser.
I uninstalled and reinstalled Claude Code extension in VS Code.
I tried in Chrome, and Chrome incognito.
I tried in Safari, and safari private window.
