What's Wrong?

When typing "/" to invoke a slash command, the entire conversation history rapidly scrolls or flashes by before the autocomplete menu appears. This creates a disorienting visual experience.

Actual behavior:
The conversation history rapidly scrolls/flashes through the terminal before the autocomplete appears. This is visually disruptive and makes it difficult to use slash commands.

What Should Happen?

Expected behavior:
The slash command autocomplete menu should appear smoothly without affecting the visible conversation history.
