[BUG] Installing with native installed on a new Mac laptop fails saying another installation in progress

Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

I created a new Claude Pro account. When I try to do the native installer I get an error that another installation is in progress. I used the Claude chatbot and the support chat and they suggested doing a lot of force cleans, but I still get same error.

madhu@Madhus-MacBook-Pro ~ % curl -fsSL https://claude.ai/install.sh | bash
Setting up Claude Code...

✘ Installation failed

Could not install - another process is currently installing Claude. Please try
again in a moment.

What Should Happen?

I would expect the installation to complete and let me authorize to my Claude account.
