[BUG] [BUG] give claude code a different project blew the existing claude code session away

What's Wrong?

I was in a long session, with Claude Code inside of VSCode. I needed to have Claude look at another Github repo. it asked for the directory. when I pasted the directory into Claude Code, hit enter, it blew away the entire session.

What Should Happen?

Review the other directory and update code in the original directory.

Error Messages/Logs

There were no error messages.

Steps to Reproduce

1) long session
2) claude offer a suggesiton to build something
3) i said we built this before in another project
4) Claude asked for the project
5) I grabbed the path from github mac client
6) pasted it into the tab session within vscode
7) entire tab went blank, and all previous session were wiped.
