[Bug] Claude Code hangs or freezes during execution with no recovery mechanism

Resolved 💬 8 comments Opened Dec 6, 2025 by smaccoun Closed Dec 7, 2025

Bug Description
Claude will frequently just get stuck. Either it will go on thinking for 10 minutes or it will just show my prompt highlighted but do nothign. And there's no way out of this. This is happening extremely frequently. My only guess as to a trigger for it is that it seems like it happens when I have multiple terminal tabs running two different claude code instances but I cant say for sure that's a trigger. The most common visual here is this

The prompt will just stay highlighted, but no thinking or action will occur. If I submit a new prompt it just replaces it
