[BUG] Conversation State Interruption: Claude Ignoring Queued User Messages During Active Processing

Resolved 💬 2 comments Opened May 16, 2025 by mattgodbolt Closed May 16, 2025

Bug Description

Claude keeps ignoring the messages I queue up while it's working. I just made a comment and it did not take it into account and shows no evidence it "heard" me. This has happened
twice in this session.

Environment Info

  • Platform: linux
  • Terminal: gnome-terminal
  • Version: 0.2.115
  • Feedback ID: ac46a546-26f1-4e03-bb04-eb9a2f6edcb2

Errors

There are multiple errors reported, including:

  1. Overloaded error
  2. Request aborted errors
  3. Shell command failed errors

The error logs include stack traces from various components of the Claude Code application, particularly from files in:

  • /opt/compiler-explorer-old/node/lib/node_modules/@anthropic-ai/claude-code/cli.js

Labels

This appears to be reporting a bug where Claude Code ignores messages that are queued up while it's actively processing another task. The URL itself is probably too long for GitHub,
which typically has URL length limits.

(this is the bug that #1123 was unable to file) I had claude decode the URL that was too long and I pasted the contents above
