[Bug] Repeated re-draw of status text triggered by window resize/monitor switch

Bug Description

When I toggle my KVM switch away from my Windows machine (the one running VS Code and Claude Code), that causes the window to move over to an alternate monitor and resize. That's appears to be what triggers this issue rendering the status text (e.g., "Shenaniganing…"). I've attached a screenshot

This issue began when I switch from the npm version of Claude Code to the native one. It's very repeatable--happens every time I toggle my KVM switch.
