[Bug] Scrolling flickering causes VS Code crash on frequent intervals

Bug Description
Since about 3 or 4 patch versions ago, the crazy scrolling flickering effect has become a lot worse than it was. Now it gets to a point where it doesn't ever stop flickering and reaches a state where it eventually just crashes VS Code. this is happening quite often, like once every 2 hours now.
