[BUG] Pro Plan token limits not applying in Claude Code session

Resolved 💬 5 comments Opened Oct 29, 2025 by hrawashdeh Closed Jan 21, 2026

Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

I have an active Claude Pro plan but Claude Code is showing regular user token limits (200,000 tokens instead of expected 1,000,000 tokens for Pro users - 5x regular capacity).

Steps taken:

  • Refresh page
  • Logged out and logged back in
  • Started new session
  • Token budget still shows 200,000 tokens

Expected behavior:
Pro plan should provide 5x token capacity (1,000,000 tokens)

Actual behavior:
Token budget shows 200,000 tokens (same as regular users)

Environment:

  • Claude Code version: [check your version]
  • Platform: [Linux/Mac/Windows]
  • Account: Claude Pro (active subscription)

Impact:
Cannot complete large implementation tasks that require Pro token limits.

Session Details:

  • Used: 123,301 tokens (61.7%)
  • Remaining: 76,699 tokens (38.3%)
  • Branch: claude/add-markdown-doc-011CUL9ZQq4nHY8kJCYMAJ3d
