[BUG] Desktop (Windows): mic dictation lost live transcript after update, shows only English "Listening..."

Bug: Desktop app (Windows) mic dictation no longer shows live transcript, placeholder stuck in English

Environment

  • Claude desktop app 2.42304.0 (Windows Store package), Code tab
  • Windows 11 Home 10.0.26200
  • "language": "cs" in ~/.claude/settings.json; Czech UI

What happens now

  • Clicking the mic in the message box shows only the English placeholder "Listening..." while speaking.
  • No text appears until dictation is stopped; only then the whole transcript is inserted.
  • Restarting the app and the computer did not help.

What happened before (prior to a recent app update)

  • The dictated text appeared live in the message box while speaking, in Czech, so mistakes could be seen and corrected immediately.

Expected

  • Live (streaming) transcript in the input while dictating, as before and as the CLI dictation docs describe.
  • Placeholder and dictation respecting the configured language (cs), not English.

Impact

  • The user dictates long instructions and cannot see mis-recognitions until the end; this makes dictation much harder to use.

Additional detail after a full restart of the app (all processes ended), with "language": "cs" and the Prompt suggestions setting On:

  • Before the update, the prompt suggestions (accepted with the Right arrow) appeared in Czech in the message box after each reply. Now no suggestion appears after a reply at all; the input shows only the English placeholder "Type / for commands".
  • All UI labels switched from Czech to English after the update, and Czech is no longer offered under Settings > General > Language.
  • The dictation still shows only "Listening..." with no live transcript.

Narrowed down: on a second Windows PC with the same app version 2.42304.0 (e7f60e), same English UI, but signed in with a different account (Pro plan), the dictated text appears live in the input while speaking (Czech, word by word; verified on video). On the affected PC with my account the input shows only "Listening..." and the text appears only after stopping. Changing the app locale in config.json has no effect (the app resets it to en-US on start). This suggests the difference is per account (feature flag / rollout), not the local install.

Confirmed it is per account: on the same second PC, same app 2.42304.0, after signing in with my account (Max plan) instead of the other account (Pro plan), dictation shows only "Listening..." again and no live text. With the Pro account on that same PC the text appears live. So live dictation transcript is missing for my Max account only, independent of machine and settings. Please check the feature flag / rollout for this account.
