Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

The session list in Claude Desktop stops at 2026-09-16 and doesn’t show any sessions since, including yesterday’s (2026-10-14/15). This persists after a full restart (fully quit via system tray, not just closed the window, then relaunched).

What I’ve verified isn’t the cause: the underlying session data is intact — transcript files for the missing date range exist on disk and are complete/unhuttedcated, not corrupted or truncated. This looks like a session-index/sidebar bug specifically, not data loss.

Steps to reproduce: [however you’d describe getting into this state — e.g. “normal daily use across many sessions over several weeks”]

Environment: Claude Desktop on Windows 11

What Should Happen?

Session sidebar should reflect all sessions present in ~/.claude/projects, matching what the Stats page already aggregates correctly.

bring back all session info so i get the latest since 2 am this morning 10/15/2026

Steps to Reproduce

Not reliably reproducible on demand. Observed condition: the session sidebar/index stopped advancing past 2026-09-16 at some point during normal day-to-day use (many sessions over several weeks, nothing unusual done to trigger it) and has not shown any session created since then — including sessions from last night and today.

Confirmed repro step: fully quit the app (via system tray, not just closing the window) and relaunch — the index remains stuck at the same 9/16 cutoff after restart, so a normal restart does not self-heal it.

Confirmed NOT the cause: underlying session data loss — the transcript files for the “missing” date range exist on disk, complete and unopened by this bug.
That gives them something concrete to act on (a real restart-doesn’t-fix-it repro) without you having to pretend there’s a specific sequence of clicks that causes it.
