First of all, thank you. The recent models have been genuinely impressive, and day-to-day Claude Code is so much better than it used to be. I use it every day and rely on it heavily.
That's exactly why the latest Code tab updates have been frustrating. Several core parts of my workflow changed overnight, the update was mandatory, and there's no way to roll back. I spent most of a day just getting back to where I was.
A few specific things:
- Sidebar grouping by folder is gone. I work across 40+ local project folders, and grouping by folder was the most useful part of the sidebar. "Environments" mean nothing to someone who only runs locally, and the app also auto-created 8 environments from my folders that I can't delete in the UI. I had to rebuild folder grouping by hand and write a plugin to file new sessions.
- Context usage is now tucked away in the top-right panel and can be hidden entirely. Context fill is one of the most important numbers while I work, and having it right next to usage in the composer footer was a great design.
- Mods can't reach the places that moved. I tried to put context % back in the footer with a mod. On desktop, nothing a mod returns for that row is drawn; the only option is an extra band above the input box.
What I'm asking for:
- Please bring back "Group by folder" as a sidebar option.
- Please show context % in the composer footer again, always visible.
- Please let mods draw in the composer footer on desktop.
- Please let users delete auto-created environments.
- Please give us a rollback path or a stable channel, and give notice before shipping changes that break existing workflows.
I really like this product, which is why I care about getting this right. Thanks for listening.

It's a nightmare for me that Claude Code Desktop puts all my 100500 folders into the Default environment.
Agree, please help us get this project view back asap
Agreed, this was the major reason to use the desktop app

Same regression as #102088, currently the most upvoted report (labels: bug, regression). Please add your 👍 and a short comment there: a single issue backed by many users is far more likely to get Anthropic's attention than a dozen scattered duplicates.
