What's Wrong?
Title: Sidebar blank after VS Code update to Node.js v24 — PendingMigrationError: navigator is now a global in nodejs
Extension version: 2.1.299 (linux-x64)
VS Code commit: 7baac39ec3ca969dab74ac12c097f6a486e46593
Node.js (extension host): v24.21.0-x64
OS: Windows 11 + WSL2 (Ubuntu)
Behavior: The Claude Code sidebar activates but renders completely blank. The terminal (claude) works fine.
Root cause from logs:
The extension accesses navigator during module load (Zod schema initialization), which now throws PendingMigrationError in
Node.js 22+ where navigator is a global. This crashes initialization before the sidebar can render.

All three errors occur at ZodObject / $ZodObjectJIT initialization during Module._compile, so the extension's config/schema
layer fails to load entirely.
To reproduce: Update VS Code to a build shipping Node.js v24 (commit 7baac39ec3 or later), open a WSL2 remote window, open the
Claude Code sidebar.
Workaround: Use claude in the terminal directly until the extension is patched.
