Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

On Windows 11, the full Claude Desktop main window (Cowork/Home view, not Quick Entry) disappears completely whenever I click on any other application, including apps on a different monitor and Snip & Sketch launched from the taskbar.

  • The window is not minimised to the taskbar; it is fully hidden.
  • The only way to get it back is to relaunch Claude from the Start menu. It then reappears in its previous position, so the process is still running.
  • Happens with the window both maximised and restored.
  • Multi-monitor setup.

Possibly related to #92933, but here the trigger is consistent: any loss of focus.

What Should Happen?

The window should behave like a normal window: stay visible (or go behind other windows) when another app or monitor gets focus, so users can take screenshots or work side by side with other apps.

Error Messages/Logs

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open Claude Desktop for Windows from the Start menu (full main window).
  2. On a multi-monitor setup, click any other app (e.g. a browser on the second monitor), or click the Snip & Sketch icon on the taskbar.
  3. The Claude window disappears completely and can't be restored from the taskbar.
  4. Relaunch from the Start menu: the window reappears in its previous position.
