[FEATURE] VS Code: collapse/hide individual assistant responses in the chat panel

Problem Statement

Long responses in the Claude Code VS Code panel push earlier messages far up. To get back to an earlier answer, I have to scroll a long way past the most recent outputs.

Proposed Solution

Add a collapse/hide toggle (for example a chevron or "hide" button) to each assistant response. When a response is collapsed, it shrinks to a one-line summary, so I can hide the latest responses and see the previous one without scrolling. Clicking the line expands it again.

Optional extras:

• "Collapse all but the last N" responses
• Keep the collapsed state for the session

Alternative Solutions

Scrolling or searching the panel, which is slow in long sessions.
