[BUG] Desktop Files pane in Remote Control sessions: unsorted (raw readdir order), folders not expandable

Summary

In a Remote Control session, the Desktop Files pane shows the session folder as a flat, unsorted list: entries come out in raw directory order, folders cannot be expanded, and dotfiles are shown. This differs from local and SSH sessions, where the listing hides dot entries (#55699, #94663), so Remote Control seems to use a separate listing path that lacks sorting and tree expansion.

Environment

  • Client: Claude Desktop 2.31226.1 on Windows 11 Pro (build 26200)
  • Host: macOS 27.0.1 (APFS), Claude Code 2.1.296
  • Started on the host with: claude remote-control --spawn same-dir --permission-mode auto
  • The session folder is under ~/Library/CloudStorage/ (OneDrive File Provider)

Steps to reproduce

  1. On the Mac, run claude remote-control in a folder that contains several subfolders and files.
  2. On Windows, open that session in Claude Desktop (Code tab).
  3. Open ⋮ → Files.

Actual

  • The list is in raw directory order. It matches ls -f on the host exactly, not name order.
  • Folders are shown as plain entries and cannot be expanded or collapsed.
  • .DS_Store is shown.

Same folder, two file names anonymized:

| Files pane (= ls -f) | ls (name order) |
|---|---|
| 10-research/ | .DS_Store |
| 30-proposal/ | 10-research/ |
| 15-notes.md | 15-notes.ledger.md |
| 40-meetings/ | 15-notes.md |
| .DS_Store | 20-planning/ |
| _inbox/ | 30-proposal/ |
| _drafts/ | 31-deliverables/ |
| 31-deliverables/ | 40-meetings/ |
| 15-notes.ledger.md | _contracts/ |
| _handoff/ | _drafts/ |
| 20-planning/ | _handoff/ |
| _contracts/ | _handover.md |
| brief.md | _inbox/ |
| _handover.md | brief.md |

Expected

The same view as in local sessions: entries sorted by name, with folders that expand and collapse as a tree. When this folder was opened in a local session on Windows before, it appeared that way.

Notes

  • APFS does not return directory entries in name order. NTFS does, so a missing sort may go unnoticed when the files are on Windows.
  • Related: #94663 (dotfiles hidden in SSH via the remote helper's files.list), #55699 (dotfiles hidden in local macOS sessions), #59683 (symlinked directories not expandable).
  • Workaround: browse the folder in another app; the Files pane is still usable for opening paths clicked in chat.
