[BUG] Desktop: sidebar right-click lost "Copy session ID"; "Copy link" gives the app's local_ id, not the CLI session id

What happened

A few days ago the Code tab's sidebar right-click menu on a thread had an item that copied the thread's session id. It is gone now. I can't find a setting that brings it back, and there is no release note about it.

What the menu offers today is Copy link, which gives claude://claude.ai/epitaxy/local_<uuid>. That local_ id is the desktop app's own id, not the Claude Code session id. The CLI id (the transcript file name, what claude --resume <id> takes) is only reachable by opening the per-thread JSON the app keeps under ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude-code-sessions/<org>/<user>/local_<uuid>.json and reading its cliSessionId field. Nothing in the UI shows it.

Why it matters

I hand threads between tools all the time: paste a Claude Code thread id into another Claude session or into Codex so it can read the transcript. Codex's thread list has a right-click copy-id action. Without the sidebar item I have to open the thread and run a command, or dig the id out of the app's data folder.

Request

Restore Copy session ID (the CLI session id) in the sidebar thread context menu. Failing that, include the cliSessionId in the Copy link payload so it can be read by other tools.

Environment

  • Claude desktop app 2.31226.1 (macOS, Darwin 27.0.0), bundled Claude Code 2.1.296
  • Code tab, local sessions

Related

  • #99774 (more copy actions in the sidebar menu)
  • #90290 (Copy link to session; Copy session ID also requested there)
