What's Wrong?

The issue is occurring in Claude Code’s left sidebar, under Account & Usage, where Session Usage and Weekly Usage are displayed.

1. October 7, 2026

Initially, Session Usage was approximately 22%, but it suddenly jumped to 100% shortly afterward. The session usage bar became completely filled, while Weekly Usage remained around 25%.

1. October 8, 2026 — approximately 1:01 PM IST

In a 15-second recording, Session Usage increased from approximately 42% to 84%. During the same period, Weekly Usage increased from approximately 71% to 75%.

1. October 8, 2026 — approximately 6:01 PM IST

In another 31-second recording, Session Usage increased from approximately 28% to 46%, while Weekly Usage increased from approximately 82% to 84%.

The main concern is how rapidly the Session Usage percentage increases within a very short period. I would appreciate it if you could verify whether this reflects actual usage consumption or a possible issue with the usage calculation or display.

Could you also check the actual usage recorded for my account during these periods and clarify what might be causing these rapid changes?

Steps to Reproduce

1. Sign in to my Claude account associated with Organization ID 052fbb7c-cd6a-40d8-a538-2d30d9b84184.

1. Open Claude Code and locate the Account & Usage section in the left sidebar.

1. Note the current percentages displayed for Session Usage and Weekly Usage.

1. Continue using Claude Code and observe the usage indicators over a short period.

1. In my recordings from October 8, 2026, the Session Usage percentage increased unusually quickly:

• At approximately 1:01 PM IST, Session Usage increased from 42% to 84% in about 15 seconds, while Weekly Usage increased from 71% to 75%.
• At approximately 6:01 PM IST, Session Usage increased from 28% to 46% in about 31 seconds, while Weekly Usage increased from 82% to 84%.

1. On October 7, 2026, I also observed Session Usage suddenly increase from approximately 22% to 100%, after which the session usage bar remained completely filled.

1. Compare the displayed percentages before and after these short intervals to observe the unexpected increase in Session Usage.

Note: The issue has been observed in my account and documented in screen recordings. I cannot confirm that it occurs consistently on every attempt. The exact cause is unknown, and I would appreciate an investigation into whether the displayed usage accurately reflects actual consumption.
