/ slash-command autocomplete: Down arrow past a large same-prefix block (gortex-*) causes unbounded re-loading
Bug description
In the / slash-command autocomplete dropdown, navigating with the Down arrow key past the currently visible window causes the list to keep growing indefinitely — the scrollbar never reaches a bottom, and the same block of ~21 gortex-* entries (installed by a third-party code-intelligence tool, each registered as an individual command .md, skill SKILL.md, and agent .md directly under ~/.claude/) reappears over and over.
Key reproduction detail: does not happen when filtering by typing (/gortex renders correctly once). Only happens navigating the full unfiltered / list with Down arrow past that block.
Comparison data point: a plugin (superpowers, 15+ skills, namespaced as superpowers:name and grouped under its own plugin manifest) does not reproduce this, nor do a dozen other individually-installed personal skills under the same ~/.claude/skills/ directory (blinter-validation, changelog-generator, graphify, etc.) — none of those share a long run of identically-prefixed consecutive entries. The gortex-* group is the only ~21-entry run sharing a literal common prefix (gortex-) in the flat list. This suggests the bug is specifically triggered by a large consecutive run of same-prefix entries in the unfiltered list, not by the tool's packaging method (plugin vs. loose files) in general.
Steps to reproduce
- Have ~20+ commands/skills installed sharing an identical literal name prefix (not plugin-namespaced), directly under
~/.claude/commands/and/or~/.claude/skills/. - Type
/alone (no filter). - Press Down arrow repeatedly to scroll through the full list.
- Observe: past that prefix block, the scrollbar keeps growing and the same entries re-appear instead of the list terminating.
What was ruled out
- Not caused by registering the same name across
agents//commands//skills/simultaneously: removing, then separately renaming, one of the three registries for a test entry had no consistent effect — both changes reverted. - Not a typing-filter issue — filtering by typing renders correctly.
Environment: Claude Code v2.1.296, Windows 11, Sonnet 5.
Expected behavior: Down-arrow navigation through / autocomplete should terminate at the end of the actual command/skill list, regardless of how many entries share a common prefix or how they were installed.
