What You Asked Claude to Do
Label every claim the owner will act on as verified, or give its probability (the owner's rule since 2026-10-05, sharpened 2026-10-06). Discussing renames of a shell helper's variables, say where each one is used.
What Claude Actually Did
- It searched three repositories for two constants,
Heavy_ballotandHeavy_check_mark, but only in some of their directories (Home, scripts, tests,.github) and one file, and told the owner they were used only in one repository'sinstall.shand its test. - The owner: "they are used in a few places." Searching the whole trees then found three more files that use them:
packaging/macports/generate-portfile.sh, and two copies of the helper in a test's data.
Expected Behavior
Search the whole tree before saying where something is used, or say which directories were searched.
Files Affected
None. Nothing was changed on the claim.

Cost: 4,218,761 tokens and $1.43, over 6 calls: 2 that committed the violation and 4 that found, disclosed and reported it (Opus 5.5 list prices, from this session's per-call usage).
